Silicone soft contrasters
- These soft contrasters are made of malleable stainless steel covered by black silicone, and while they are very durable, they can get damaged or scratched.
- You may sterilise it using ultrasonic baths, cleaners, disinfectors, alcohol and any type of decontamination products.
- You may autoclave it in a temperature up to 135°C (275°F) Be sure to completely dry the contraster before autoclaving it to prevent water spots.
- Do not use abrasive products (like Scotch-brite pads) and do not place in dishwashers.
- You may clean it using clean water and mild soap.
- Do not leave the contrasters exposed to sunlight or bright light sources to prevent the black silicone from fading.
Classic metal contrasters and aluminium holder
- These classic metal contrasters are made of anodized aluminium and as such, are less resistant to some sterilisation processes.
- Do not use a dishwasher or disinfector
- Do not use ultrasonic bath
- Do not use abrasive products (like Scotch-brite pads)
- Some disinfecting liquids are incompatible with aluminium: please refer to the instructions of use of your products (PH between 4 and 8 is safe).
- Do not use alkaline or acid chemicals
- You may autoclave it in temp. up to (134°C), chemiclave it (132°C) or dry heat (180°C).
Intraoral Dental Photography Mirrors Cleaning/Sterilization
Thank you for your interest in our intraoral mirrors. So that you may get the best results and longest life out of these mirrors, please follow these tips and instructions:
- These mirrors are made of glass, and while they are strong, they will break if dropped, so use care in handling them.
- The mirror surfaces can be cleaned with ordinary glass cleaner. Wipe them off with a microfiber tissue not paper towels (Paper towels are abrasive and can scratch the mirror surfaces).
NOTE: Be sure to completely dry the mirrors before placing them in an autoclave.
- You can sterilize the mirrors using cold sterilization chemicals or in an autoclave (18 minutes at 134°C or Dry Heat at 160°C). Read the manufacturer’s instructions on chemical sterilants to avoid damaging the mirrors.
- Do not put the mirrors into an ultrasonic cleaning device and do not use bleach solutions.
- Do not stack the mirrors directly on top of each other as this can cause scratches.
- FOR SAFETY REASONS, any mirror with a chipped or scratched edge must be immediately discarded
